It is important to bring your vehicle in for regular inspections. That way we can check the parts and components for any sign of an issue. One part that should not be ignored in the summer is the battery. The battery has a greater chance of failing in the summer than it does in the winter. This is because the heat has a higher affect on the chemicals in the battery than it would during the colder months.
The only accurate way to detect a weak battery is by having it professionally inspected. You will also want it brought in so we can check the posts and cables. If there is corrosion, it should be scraped away from the posts and cable connections. The surfaces should be cleaned and all of the connections should be re-tightened as well.
You might start to notice an issue with the battery based on how your vehicle starts. If the vehicle starts slow or is difficult to keep running, it could be the battery. These issues can also occur if the starter or alternator are showing signs of wear. The best way to know if the battery is causing the issue, is to bring your vehicle in so we can inspect it for you.
